Is the agent required to have a break time? How does this affect the payment?

While this is up to your discretion, Outside recommends that the agent(s) be provided with breaks where necessary, such as when the work hours are long. Listed below are some possible scenarios that you can use as guidelines:

  • If the shift is from 9 am to 6 pm, there should be an hour of break for agents to consume lunch.
  • If the shift is from 2 pm to 6 pm, whether a break is provided is up to your discretion.
